Can AI assistants find your business?

Check in 30 seconds whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot can read your website, what they see, and how ready it is to be recommended.

Most AI crawlers don’t run JavaScript, and some CDNs and firewalls block AI bots by default. Either one can keep your business out of AI answers.

What the checker looks at

  • AI crawler access: robots.txt rules for 13 AI and search crawlers.
  • Firewall test: whether your CDN or firewall turns AI crawlers away.
  • What AI sees: the text on your home page without JavaScript.
  • Structured data: Organization, Service, FAQ, Article and more.
  • Direct answers, business facts, trust signals, llms.txt and sitemap.

The most common fixes

  • Allow the AI search crawlers in robots.txt, and in your CDN’s bot settings.
  • Make sure your main content is in the HTML (server-side rendering or static pages).
  • Add structured data as plain JSON-LD, not injected with JavaScript.
  • Answer the questions customers ask in short, clear sections.
  • Use one business name, address and phone number everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How does the AI search checker work?

It reads your robots.txt for each AI crawler, sends one request that identifies as an AI crawler to see whether your firewall lets it in, loads your public pages the way a crawler without JavaScript does, and checks structured data, llms.txt, direct answers and business facts. It uses fixed rules, not AI, so the same site always gets the same result.

Which AI crawlers matter for being found?

Search crawlers decide whether assistants can find and quote you: OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User (OpenAI), Claude-SearchBot and Claude-User (Anthropic), PerplexityBot and Perplexity-User, Googlebot and Bingbot. Training crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and Google-Extended only collect content for model training; blocking them is a business choice.

Why does JavaScript matter for AI search?

Most AI crawlers read the HTML your server sends and do not run JavaScript. If your page builds its text in the browser, they see an almost empty page. The checker shows you exactly what they get.

What is llms.txt?

A plain text file at the root of your site that summarises who you are, what you offer and which pages matter most, written for AI tools. It is a young, voluntary standard: helpful, but less important than crawler access and readable content.

Can this guarantee that ChatGPT recommends my business?

No tool can. It shows the technical and content reasons an assistant may skip your site, which you can fix. Being recommended also depends on your reputation, reviews and how well you answer what customers ask.
